How to Process Import/Export Permits

  1. Register on KenTrade

    Ensure your company is registered on the KenTrade Single Window System.

  2. Apply for IDF

    For imports, apply for an Import Declaration Form (IDF) and pay the processing fee (approx. 2.25% of CIF value).

  3. Lodge Documents

    Your clearing agent will lodge the Commercial Invoice, Packing List, and Bill of Lading in the iCMS system.

  4. Pay Duties

    Pay the assessed customs duties and taxes via the generated payment slip.

  5. Verification & Release

    Customs officers will verify the goods (physical or scanning). Once cleared, a Release Order is issued.
