How to Transfer Vehicle Ownership (TIMS)

  1. Create TIMS Account

Both buyer and seller must have active accounts on the NTSA TIMS portal (via eCitizen).

  2. Seller Initiates Transfer

The seller logs in, selects the vehicle, clicks "Transfer of Ownership", and enters the buyer's details.

  3. Buyer Accepts Transfer

The buyer receives an SMS, logs into their TIMS account, and accepts the transfer.

  4. Pay Transfer Fees

The fee depends on the engine capacity (cc). Payment is made via M-PESA or other gateway options.

  5. Collect Logbook

NTSA processes the transfer. You will be notified to collect the new logbook from the selected NTSA office.
